Jun 05, Fascinating by: Me I am currently an eighteen year old struggling with my sexuality I am pretty sure that I am a homosexual , but for most of my life, I have been a Catholic.
Because of my sexual orientation and my religion, I have always felt conflicted and confused. Thank you for posting this page.
I am pretty sure that I will also leave the Catholic Church because I do not believe that salvation can be obtained by both faith and good works since the Bible says that salvation is obtained through faith alone. Do you believe that this can be another possible point in favor of homosexuals going to Heaven as long as they believe in God? Or have I stretched it too far? Jun 05, By grace alone, through faith alone in Christ alone by: Rick Brentlinger " Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals, Transgendered and Heterosexuals - all get saved and go to heaven the same way - by the grace of God alone through faith alone in Christ alone, with no works involved, no infused grace ala Roman Catholicism or any other church - salvation is only by grace through faith.
The book of Galatians makes this argument in succinct and pithy language. Its only six short chapters and is well worth reading. Try reading all six chapters of Galatians aloud every day for a week. It will get into your heart and mind and you'll start to understand it in ways you didn't before. Dec 21, God and hell, I hardly think so! Anonymous I'm a practicing Catholic, and I don't believe being gay is any more of a sin then using an expired coupon.
Not a sin at all! My boyfriend is also a practicing Catholic. If either of us wasn't Catholic, our relationship just wouldn't work. Our values are the same.
Will Gays go to heaven? - Rick Thomas -
We both believe in God and Jesus, charity, love, a strong faith, family, community, etc. Will we go to hell when we die, I hardly think so. We are part of God's children, desigined and made by our heavenly father. Our intent has never been ill will, only our belief to live a decent loving good life together as part of a civil human race. We've never asked for opinions on our life style, why should we, we've never judged yours. Go live your life and be a good soul. Dec 21, Trusting Jesus by faith alone is the key by: Rick Brentlinger Please don't make the mistake many people make - trusting their church or their pastor or their priest or their sacraments or their religious affiliation when they should be trusting by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone.
On that basis, do you know for sure you are saved? Dec 24, I don't get it. Anonymous I don't understand the above comment by Rick. What are you saying Rick? Dec 24, Getting saved is really pretty simple by: Rick Brentlinger Some religious people trust their church membership to guarantee their salvation instead of trusting Jesus. Here are some pages which explain how to get saved. The key point is that no one gets saved by being Baptist or Catholic or any other denomination.
Salvation isn't about religious affiliation and rituals, isn't about church membership, isn't about doing good works. Salvation is the free gift of God apart from works. Can you illustrate how to believe in Jesus? What does it mean to believe in Jesus? Would you like to know how to be saved today? Feb 04, Lev. A friend of Dorothy I always find it amazing when folks talk about homosexuals. They reach deep in their pockets and dust off their halo and become the most saintly being on earth since Christ himself.
Have you noticed it? Drunkards, cheaters, liars, adulterers-everyone's a Christian when the subject of homosexuality comes up and there is a gay to bash! What is most appalling is the ignorance with which they bash others and proclaim they are the true Christian. They pick and choose the scripture they want to follow. Homosexuality is always the favorite target. Yet they fail to examine the beam in their own eye. Deep down they know they fall into many of the categories mentioned above.
Yet they judge and it clearly states in the Bible we are not to do it. But they are fine with committing that sin and others. And before anyone quotes scripture in Leviticus, I wish they would read the whole book. Really, read it. Which ones are you violating and have no intentions of ever following?

Maybe you are intending to stone your neighbors for the broken laws found therein? Is that not misleading the little ones? Here are some of the laws that are mentioned in Leviticus. Don't have a variety of crops on the same field. Anyone who curses or blasphemes God, should be stoned to death by the community Leviticus There are many, many more. Feb 04, Part 2 by: And don't get me started on what you eat that God, in Leviticus, commands you not to. I know many will refer to the Gospel of Matthew But decide once and for all which is it going to be for crying out loud. When you pick and choose what you like to follow in Leviticus then judge and condemn others for not following just one verse, your words become meaningless.
Judge your own heart. If truth is important to you, study the history. Seek the truth only-not what I say or others but the truth? I even encourage you to study the original texts? Plus context is important! A parting thought: Read the Sermon on the Mount and judge yourself first. Feb 19, Thank you by: PJ Rick, this site is one more proof that having been born gay is a gift.
I don't know that had I not struggled to the point of suicidal depression in my youth that I would've heard the call of Christ as loudly nor as clearly when I finally did accept him on October 17, Furthermore, I wonder if you, too have noted that there is a hidden gift in being told over and over again that you are outside the grace of God simply because of your sexual orientation--the gift being that I have a continual reminder of how precious that grace is.
So many people, many non-gay Christians especially, think that gays are simply maladapted heterosexuals who have opted to "perform gay sex acts. I was "headed to hell" based on the fact I was born a human being. God's forgiveness at the cross in Christ did not come with conditions, special clauses, or exceptions, yet so many non-gay Christians send the message that gays have a special "marker" that sets off the "hell detector" at the cross in a unique way. And even beyond, gays are branded as "anti-God" or "hell-bound" simply by coming out. It has been over 30 years since I accepted Christ and despite the wave of "ex-Gayness" that I went through, years of praying and thinking I had lost my salvation or never had it in the first place, I emerge having grown through the "lavender desert experiences" that so many of us endure, totally accepted in Him and still as gay as I ever was.
Interestingly, too, my life continued to improve in every way imaginable. I would not have lasted another year or two had I not asked Christ into my heart in ' But, yes, I'm still gay as I ever was. So, thank you for your ministry. Thank you for so many people who will see the acceptance that is there for them in your messages. And thank you for giving me a reason to bookmark your site and visit often. Feb 21, Why me?
